About ME Compost

ME Compost was started after Jesse Haskell completed the University of Maine compost school in 2015. Jesse started working on his family's organic dairy farm when he was 11, and with his family’s trucking company when he was 20.

Combining the resources and knowledge from these businesses allowed him to learn materials sourcingx, management, and logistics.

After compost school, he started making compost with materials from the family dairy farm as a way to provide value to the farm, the soil, and the community.

At ME Compost we offer composts derived from cow manure, or horse manure, and mixed with hardwood, or softwood sawdusts to get the perfect C:N ratio to optimize the composting process. Compost is then screened to ½” to make sure no bulky material ends up with the customer. All mulches, and chips are derived from local Maine forestry by-products to reduce the travel time from source to final destination.
